"My girlfriend's dad owned an rv on a lot in the resort and we stayed there for a month while working on our Batman project. It's a great place to chill and enjoy the surrounding natural landscape and we needed that after a grueling spring in the Big Apple. Our project was approved and funded and would begin in September so the break over the summer was perfectly timed. We were given a wifi hotspot so we could get uninterupted internet no matter where we were (and there were times we worked from our car). Our project was to help inner city children in NYC by supplementing their education with after school activities meant to support their self esteem and provide some structure and fun for them in a learning environment. We chose a Batman theme because this superhero was one we knew would be welcome by all and because of Batman's ethical background. We purchased Batman t shirts online from MoonAtMidnight.com to give to the kids as their "uniform" for the after school activities, many of which involved bonding as a team. We couldn't believe the incredible positive reaction we got when we revealed the t shirts to the kids - they were overjoyed to receive them. And the program was a huge success thanks to Batman and to Dear Creek, where the inspiration for the project became a reality.
